50th Anniversary of Color Television

1954-2004

1951- Zenith Corp. first talked of a petition to the US Federal Communications Commission (FCC), on the viability of color television.

1953- Zenith had a prototype color television.

1954- RCA CT-100 the first color television makes it debut.

1955- CBS comes out with a 15" color television.

1956- Zenith comes out with a model x2264RQ color television.

 The Bell Labs in New York state, in 1925-27, had a color scanning disc television in their labs, but very crude. It wasn't ready for public consumption.
